Being your best self.

Recognising your neurodivergent-ness can be liberating.

It can also be challenging.

Finding out you’re neurodivergent later in life, or adapting to changes in your work or personal life, can be hard.

You want to find strategies and solutions that work for you.

Or something’s changed and you’d like help figuring out how to adapt.

Maybe you’ve identified areas you want some support with.

“I’ve learnt time management strategies that actually work for me, with the flow charts. I’ve learnt how to build in accommodations for my sensory needs rather than trying to work round them, or avoid them completely. I feel like I’ve learnt how to set myself routines and instructions better so that I can actually realistically plan what I can get done.

My confidence has increased and I am less anxious and overwhelmed. I want to build up my confidence to move my career on. I want to eventually move on to do more challenging, complex work.”

“I’ve learned practical skills about how to better organise the day. I’ve learned more about how to effectively communicate things. I’ve learned about advocating for myself. I’ve learned more about disability stuff, like reasonable adjustments and funding. I’ve also learned the importance about not being too hard on myself. I think that’s really important because I always am, I’m a lot better right now. With the reasonable adjustments I’ve learned how to use them and I’m using them effectively.

I am more organised; I don’t have loads of things outstanding like I did before. I’m in a better mental space. I’m meeting the targets – I’m exceeding them at the minute! – I’m not putting pressure on exceeding it. I’ve got a better relationship with my colleagues. It’s still a work in progress but it’s better. I’m generally feeling better about myself, I understand a lot more about myself that I didn’t before.

I feel positive. I still have worries and anxieties at the back of my mind but I definitely feel like I’m in a better space. And I feel well more equipped to do my job.”

“I felt blocked, wasn’t certain of the direction I was going in and I wasn’t entirely certain how to resolve those things. It was almost as if I wasn’t confident in my own abilities either. Because of these things it was impacting not just my work but, more importantly, it was impacting my health as well.

I feel very positive about what I’ve learnt, I feel very positive about working with Corinne. The results have been different to what I initially thought they would be, but they’re better. Initially my thought was, that at the end of the process I’d be very focused on looking for management opportunities. But actually what’s happened is I’m very much focussed on myself and allowing opportunities to arise, and enjoying my current job more. It’s been noticed by family and friends that I’m a lot more relaxed, a lot calmer.

Doing the coaching sessions has been very constructive. Particularly as we agreed the goals up front and also the timings of each session. We left enough time for self-reflection and work on my part to do [the 6 sessions were spaced approximately 1 month apart].”
